A New Request
I’ve asked before with little response but…
I now have a login-less/account-less system ready and raring to go. I just need playtesters to make sure it’s reasonably secure. Anybody interested please contact me on the contact form. Cheers.
Spammers!
Unbelievably the gamebook system has been hit by spammers. I ought to be flattered they’ve actually taken the time to manually spam a bespoke system but obviously it is not desirable. I shall be removing the offending gamebooks shortly.
Legend Quests by Olly Mc
No not an adventure to play here, an adventure to play IRL! A new project by Olly Mc and other gamebook authors and illustrators is underway in my neck of the woods at Bodiam, Sussex. This is a unique opportunity to get involved at the ground floor of this exciting project and I urge you to take a look at:
War of Deities by Stuart Lloyd
At 400 references War of Deities is the second largest adventure to be encoded here at fightingfantasy.net, and I am pleased to announce it is now ready for playing. As ever this has been created using only the systems avaialable to any user of fightingfantasy.net.
Playtesting has yet to be done however so many errors are currently likely.
Kill The Beast!
Kill the Beast by Victor Cheng is now fully encoded and ready for play. It’s short but sweet at 40 references, and has been playtested for most errors. This took me 2 working days to encode and input. As ever please message me with any errors you might discover.
Bracketing handling error discovered
SEL has a now known issue with certain configurations of brackets (parenthesis). This is a very limited situation and shouldn’t in most cases affect your code. At the moment it has been identified:
$x=&ceil(($var)/2); ## will not evaluate ceil
$x=&ceil($var/2); ## will evaluate ceil
… which seems to indicate a more general problem of parenthesis handling in my code somewhere. Or maybe it’s simply parameter handling. as the expression within the parens actually evaluates fine. I’m not sure yet.
